Done deal: Arsenal's Hale End product Oyegoke departs Brentford for Scottish club Hearts
Published: June 21, 2024
Through a statement on their official website, Scottish Premiership side Hearts have announced the signing of Arsenal youth product of Nigerian descent Daniel Oyegoke on a three-year deal.
The 21-year-old right-back, who has represented England at various youth levels, arrives from Premier League side Brentford for an undisclosed fee.
Oyegoke's journey began at local side Barnet before joining Arsenal's youth academy in 2017.
He spent four years in North London before moving to Brentford, where he signed his first professional contract.
The athletic full-back quickly made a name for himself, featuring regularly for Brentford's B team and earning loan spells at MK Dons and Bradford City.
The Anglo-Nigerian defender played a crucial role in Brentford's Premier League Cup triumph in 2022-2023.
Last season, Oyegoke spent the entire campaign on loan at Bradford City, where he featured 28 times as the Bantams narrowly miss out on the League Two play-offs.
Born to Nigerian parents , Oyegoke has been capped for his country of birth at U16s, U17s, U18s, U19s, and U20s levels.
He was part of the 2022 U19 European Championship-winning side and featured in last year's U20s World Cup.
