'I spent seven or eight years at Chelsea' - Eze thanks PL club after completing transfer to Bolton
Published: July 01, 2024
With a statement on their official website, EFL League One club Bolton Wanderers have announced the signing of Chelsea's Cobham product Dubem Eze, 19.
The attacking midfielder will start his Bolton Wanderers career with the B team, but he's also eligible to play for the first team if needed by manager Ian Evatt.
Eze is the first summer signing for the young Whites and was offered a contract following a successful trial last season.
The London-born Nigerian player has put pen to paper on a two-year contract, with Bolton Wanderers holding an option for an additional season.
Eze was on the books of Chelsea for seven years before transferring to Derby County at the age of sixteen.
He later joined Norwich City on scholarship terms in December 2021 and signed his first professional contract last July.
Eze had good things to say about Chelsea after completing his transfer to Bolton Wanderers.
In his first words a player of Bolton Wanderers, Eze told the club's official website: "I spent seven or eight years at Chelsea and I have to thank that club a lot for my development before moving to Derby and then Norwich where I have just finished.
“It's the next stage of my career here where I’ll be looking to try and break through into the first team at some point if I can and kind of establish my career as a professional and a first-team football player."
Eze spent a portion of the 2023-2024 season on loan at National League North club Warrington Town F.C, where he scored two goals in six outings in the sixth tier of English football.
