Done deal: Former Chelsea striker Fiabema departs Real Sociedad for 8-time Polish champions
Published: July 11, 2024
Through a statement on their official website, eight-time Polish champions Lech Poznań have announced the signing of former Chelsea youth team striker Bryan Fiabema.
A year after his arrival at Real Sociedad, the Norway youth international of Nigerian descent has embarked on a new chapter in his career, having put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Lech Poznań, with the option of a 12-month extension in the club's favour.
Fiabema flew to the capital of Wielkopolska on Monday just before midnight and the next day he began medical tests, which extended until Wednesday, because his last test was scheduled for that day at 1 p.m.
Then, at 3:30 p.m. he signed a contract with Lech Poznań and formally became a player of the club.
Fiabema registered five goals in 30 appearances for Real Sociedad B over the course of the 2023-2024 season.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, he said: "I had a few options from Spanish clubs recently. However, I spoke with Kristoffer Velde, who told me a lot of good things about Lech.
"I chose the offer from Poland because Lech is a big club that aspires to play in Europe every year. I know that I will have the opportunity to take the next step in my career here "
For the forthcoming season, Fiabema will wear the number 19 on the back of his Lech Poznań jersey.
The 21-year-old lists Forest Green Rovers, Rosenborg and Tromso as his previous clubs.
