Published: July 12, 2024
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Turkish Super Lig side Hatayspor are on the verge of announcing the signing of talented Nigerian center forward Jonathan Okoronkwo.
After the departure of Super Eagles star Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to Lazio, Hatayspor are set to strengthen their squad with the signing of another Nigerian-born player.
Hatayspor and Krasnodar have reached a club-to-club agreement for the transfer of Jonathan Okoronkwo.
Subject to a routine medical, the 20-year-old will put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Hatayspor, who hold a club option for the 2027-2028 season.
Okoronkwo put himself in the shop window after a remarkable 2023-2024 season that saw him score an impressive seventeen goals in 32 matches during a loan spell at Arsenal Tula.
He is departing Krasnodar after making five appearances for the first team, comprising three games in the Russian Premier League and two in the Russian Cup.
Before making the step up to the first team, he featured eighteen times for Krasnodar's reserve team in the FNL and 1.League, registering four goal involvements.
Okoronkwo had stops at Diamond Star Calabar, Hope of Glory, Vista Gelendzhik and Botev Plovdiv, before joining Krasnodar on a permanent deal in the summer of 2022.
