Done deal: FC Ebedei product Iyede joins two-time Ukrainian champions on two-year contract
Published: July 16, 2024
With a statement on their official website, two-time Ukrainian top-flight champions Vorskla Poltava have announced the signing of Nigerian center forward Samson Iyede.
Iyede has inked a two-year contract with Ukrainian Premier Liga side Vorskla Poltava, and in doing so ended his association with Danish Ist Division club AC Horsens.
A product of FC Ebedei, Iyede has a bit of Ukrainian Premier Liga experience as he played on loan at Chornomorets last term, where he appeared in 25 matches in the division and scored two goals while providing an assist in 1,350 minutes of action.
Vorskla Poltava revealed that the 26-year-old is literally burning with the desire to prove himself in his new club, which he immediately announced as soon as he signed on the dotted line.
On his football curriculum vitae, he lists Paide (Estonia), Fremad Amager (Denmark) and Lommel (Belgium) as his previous clubs, apart from the aforementioned teams.
For the upcoming season, Iyede will wear the number 77 on the back of his jersey at Vorskla Poltava.
He could make his competitive debut for his new employers on August 9 in a league game against SK Dnipro-1.
By joining Vorskla Poltava, Iyede has followed in the footsteps of former Super Eagles forwards Chukwudi Nworgu and Emmanuel Okoduwa who turned out for the club during their playing days.
