Published: August 02, 2024
Through a statement on their official website, six-time French Ligue 1 champions Stade de Reims have announced the signing of teenage Nigerian fullback Amos Ochoche.
The promising defender ended his association with Sporting Supreme Abuja after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract with Stade de Reims.
Ochoche has joined Stade de Reims after a breakout campaign, where he was named Sporting Supreme's Player of the Season for 2023-2024.
The 18-year-old will not begin his Stade de Reims career with the first team but the Pro 2 group, and has decided to move to the Red and Whites to continue his development and gain experience.
He has been offered a contract by Stade de Reims after he was spotted by the club's recruitment network.
In the upcoming season, Stade de Reims II will be competing in the Championnat National 3 - equivalent of the fifth tier of French football..
Cap-tied United States international of Nigerian descent Folarin Balogun and 2017 Fifa U17 World Cup-winning winger Sheyi Ojo have both played for Stade de Reims in the past.
Nigeria internationals Moses Simon (Nantes) and Terem Moffi (OGC Nice) are on the books of Ligue 1 clubs.
