With a statement on their official website, Turkish Women's Football Super League club Fenerbahçe S.K. have announced the signing of Nigeria international Regina Ibiang Otu, who last wore the colours of AS Saint-Etienne in the French league.
The Super Falcons midfielder has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Yellow Canaries.
Otu was a member of the Super Falcons squad to the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations and trained with the national team in the months leading up to the 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup.
In her first season with AS Saint-Etienne, she was a key member of the squad that secured promotion to the top flight, scoring one goal in twenty matches across all competitions in the 2022-2023 campaign.
The 28-year-old netted her first goal in the Premiére Ligue as AS Saint-Etienne were held to a 1-1 draw by Montpellier in September 2023.
Fenerbahçe S.K. is her third club in Europe, having previously worn the colours of Belarusian giants FC Minsk for two seasons.
By joining the Istanbul club, Otu has continued the tradition of Nigeria internationals who have been signed by Fenerbahce, following in the footsteps of players like Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, Uche Okechukwu, Joseph Yobo, Emmanuel Emenike and Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Fenerbahçe S.K. fnished third in the Super League last season with 66 points from 30 matches.
