Confirmed: Nigeria winger Gift Sunday who shares the same agent as Victor Boniface joins FK Bodo/Glimt
Published: August 12, 2024
Five years after the capture of Victor Boniface, Norwegian Eliteserien club FK Bodø/Glimt have signed another young Nigerian forward.
Through their official website, The Yellow Horde have announced the signing of Gift Sunday on a four-year contract, until 2028.
Sunday has moved to FK Bodø/Glimt - one of the rising forces of Norwegian football with three league titles since 2020 - from the P Sports Academy in his homeland.
The deal taking the winger to FK Bodø/Glimt was brokered by Atta Aneke, who also looks after Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface.
Sunday's move to the Norwegian champions is a great opportunity for the young talented forward to continue his development.
The 18-year-old will be hoping to showcase his pace and dribbling ability in front of the FK Bodø/Glimt supporters at Aspmyra Stadium.
In his first words after putting pen to paper, he said: "It is a great experience for me to sign my first professional contract with such a big club as Glimt. It's a dream come true,"
FK Bodø/Glimt's sporting administrative manager Håvard Sakariassen added: "Gift, we have followed each other for a longer period and he has previously visited us during a training stay.
"Now we are looking forward to getting to know him even better."
Sunday has been offered his first professional contract by Bodø/Glimt after impressing the coaching staff while on trial last month.
The promising teenager was invited for further assessment after catching the attention of the club's scout during a tournament in Nigeria.
