West Ham's brand new signing from Man Utd assigned shirt number previously worn by Emenike

West Ham United have confirmed the signing of former Democratic Republic of Congo U20 international Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United.
By joining the Hammers on a seven-year contract for an undisclosed fee, Wan-Bissaka has ended a five-year association with Manchester United, whom he joined from Crystal Palace in 2019.
A right-back by trade, he played in 190 games for the Red Devils, registering fifteen goal involvements.
The London native has been assigned West Ham's number 29 jersey, previously worn by 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning striker Emmanuel Emenike during the second half of the 2015-2016 season.
Other players who have donned West Ham's number 29 shirt include Toni Martínez, Raphael Spiegel, Marouane Chamakh, Marek Stech, Richard Wright, Lee Bowyer, Shaun Newton , Hogan Ephraim, Brian Deane, Titi Camara, Ian Feuer, Eyal Berkovic and Scott Canham
Emenike arrived at West Ham United in January 2016, joining on loan from Fenerbahce, with the Hammers having the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
The former Nigeria international managed two goals in sixteen outings for West Ham, including seven starts.
Emenike had to return to Fenerbahce at the end of his loan spell as West Ham rejected the chance to trigger the purchase option in his contract.
29 was Emenike's favourite shirt number during his playing days, having worn it at West Ham, Olympiacos Piraeus, KVC Westerlo, Spartak Moscow and Kardemir DC Karabükspor.
