Arsenal have dropped the biggest hint yet England youth international of Nigerian descent Ethan Nwaneri could feature in the 2024-2025 Premier League, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Through their official website, the Gunners have published pictures of the first team's annual Premier League media day held at Sobha Realty Training Centre, with Nwaneri taking part.
Versatile defender Ayden Heaven and exciting midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly were the other academy players invited to participate in the photocall at London Colney on Tuesday, August 13.
Arsenal have also hinted that Nwaneri will be wearing the number 53 on the back of his jersey for the forthcoming season as he sported the number while posing for the cameras.
The Anglo-Nigerian attacking midfielder was involved in every single game played by the north London club during their pre-season preparations, and even started against Bournemouth and Manchester United.
Nwaneri became the youngest player in history to play a game in the top flight of English football at the age of 15 years and 181 days when he made his Premier League debut against Brentford on September 18, 2022.
Last season, he received two call ups for Premier League matches, both coming against West Ham United, and played as a substitute for the last thirteen minutes of the encounter at the London Stadium.
Apart from Nwaneri, other U21 players of Nigerian descent set to be included in Arsenal's Premier League squad are: Josh Nichols, Brian Okonkwo, Daniel Oyetunde, Zac Shuaib, Andre Annous, Ife Ibrahim, Josh Ogunnaike and Samuel Onyekachukwu.
