Official: Attacking midfielder eligible for Nigeria signs new deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers
Published: August 15, 2024
With a statement on their official website, Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that talented attacking midfielder of Nigerian descent Tom Edozie has signed a new contract with the club.
Tom, who is the younger brother of Southampton's first team winger Samuel Edozie, has signed his first professional contract with Wolves.
The younger Edozie is a product of London-based grassroots club XYZ Academy, which produced Huddersfield Town academy graduate Mustapha Olagunju and former Peterborough United center forward Harmeed Ishola.
Tom has signed professional forms at Wolverhampton Wanderers after his impressive performances for Richard Walker's U18 team since he joined the club two years ago.
The 18-year-old netted five goals and produced two assists in thirty-five appearances in the U18 Premier League.
Last season, the Anglo-Nigerian bagged a brace on his debut in the Premier League 2 against Newcastle United and went on to play in five more games at the back end of the campaign.
Edozie has also made appearances in the Premier League Cup, Premier League International Cup and FA Youth Cup since he joined Wolves.
He has been promoted to Wolverhampton Wanderers development squad on a full-time basis for the forthcoming season and will be registered on the club's Premier League roster as an U21 player.
