2019 Golden Eaglets invitee changes shirt number at Brighton & Hove
Published: August 16, 2024
Through their official website, Brighton & Hove have confirmed the squad numbers for the 2024-2025 Premier League season.
2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Odeluga Offiah will be wearing the number 49 on the back of his jersey if he is called up for Brighton's Premier League opener against Everton on August 17.
The versatile right-back switches from number 42 he had been wearing since the 2022-2023 season.
Offiah was assigned the number 57 when he made his professional debut in a Carabao Cup clash against Cardiff City in August 2021.
The number 42 jersey which he had has not been allocated to any Brighton & Hove player for the time being.
Andrew Moran, Jayson Molumby , Romaric Yapi, Jayson Molumby and Tyler Hornby-Forbes have donned Brighton & Hove's number 49 jersey in the Premier League era.
Offiah has received twenty four call-ups for Premier League matches to date, and has appeared in six of them, logging 150 minutes.
He wore the number 29 during a loan spell at Heart of Midlothian FC in the first half of the 2023-2024 season.
Offiah was named in Brighton's traveling squad to Japan, where he featured in friendly matches against Kashima Antlers and Tokyo Verdy.
The defender was not called up for Brighton's last two pre-season fixtures against Queens Park Rangers and Villarreal.
