Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Paraguay international Ramón Sosa on a five-year contract, informs the official website of the Premier League club.
The former CA Tallares player has joined the two-time European champions after shinning at the 2024 Copa América, where he scored one of the goals of the tournament in a group stage clash between Paraguay and Costa Rica.
Ramón Sosa has come to England with a reputation of being a goalscorer and assist provider, registering 30 goal involvements (17 goals, 13 assists) in 56 outings for CA Tallares.
The 24-year-old has been described as a direct forward who is also capable of playing on both flanks.
Although Ramón Sosa is expected to provide competition for Taiwo Awoniyi in the Forest attack, his arrival has certainly thrown the future of Emmanuel Dennis in doubt as both players have the same attributes.
Dennis participated in the first two matches played by Nottingham Forest during pre-season preparations but was left out of the matchday squad versus Millwall.
The former Club Brugge star has been unable to break into Nottingham Forest's starting lineup on a permanent basis since his arrival at the City Ground from Watford, with nine starts in two years.
Dennis was shipped out on loan to Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir in the first half of the 2023-2024 season and re-joined Watford on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
The 26-year-old has two years left on his contract with Nottingham Forest.
