2023 Headies Rookie of the Year Odumodublvck eager to collaborate on a track with Iheanacho, Ndidi
Published: August 20, 2024
Award-winning Afrobeats artist Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has expressed his desire to collaborate with Super Eagles stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi.
Odumodublvck's interest was piqued after watching a viral video of the two footballers showcasing their musical talents.
In the clip, which circulated widely during Leicester City's Championship campaign, Iheanacho and Ndidi are seen in a car, vibing to a beat and delivering impromptu lyrics.
Clearly impressed by the duo's musical chemistry, the 2023 Headies Rookie of the Year expressed his intention to work with the players, stating, "Is this song out? It’s not out? I have to tell him. I have to be on this song. I will talk to them."
Aside from playing the game, some footballers explored other creative ventures outside of the sport, with some delving into the entertainment industry.
Neymar Jr. and Alex Iwobi have shown interest in music, while others, like Osaze Odemwingie and Gareth Bale, have pursued other sports like golf.
It remains to be seen whether Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi will explore a music career during or after their time in football.
Iheanacho has moved on from Leicester City to join Sevilla in Spain, while Ndidi opted to stay with the Foxes by signing a new contract following the expiration of his previous deal.
Both players played a key role in helping Leicester secure promotion to the Premier League from the Championship last season.
