Done deal: Millwall confirm signing of exciting forward Femi Azeez from Reading
Published: August 21, 2024
With a statement on their official website, Championship club Millwall have announced the signing of Nigerian forward Femi Azeez.
Azeez ended a five-year association with Reading after signing a long-term deal with the Lions for an undisclosed fee.
He is the sixth player signed by Millwall in the summer transfer window and has been assigned the number 11 jersey for the 2024-2025 season.
Millwall have brought in a player with some Championship experience as he played in 34 matches in the division spread across three seasons during his time with Reading.
Azeez put himself in the shop window after a storybook season that saw him directly participate in seventeen goals (8 goals, 9 assists) for the Royals in the EFL League One last term.
He has been described as an exciting, quick, dynamic forward who loves to take players on, gets crosses into the box and loves to score a goal.
After starting his senior career with non-league sides Northwood and Wealdstone, he secured a move to the Royals in September 2019 following a successful trial.
Azeez is in contention to make his competitive debut for Millwall on Saturday when they face Hull City in the Championship.
