Osimhen to Al Ahli only possible if Chelsea fail to agree terms with Napoli striker
Published: August 28, 2024
As revealed by Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Victor Osimhen will only join Al-Ahli if Chelsea fail to agree terms with him.
Al-Ahli are set to be in Italy today to discuss with Napoli over the possibility of signing the Nigerian striker having initially submitted a bid in excess of €65m for his signature.
The Saudi-Arabian side are working their socks off to get the 25-year-old and have now included a release clause in their proposal which is one of the conditions requested by the Napoli star.
Al-Ahli want to sign a striker and have also set sights on Brentford forward Ivan Toney who coincidentally has also been linked with Chelsea and has reportedly agreed personal terms with the England international.
The Nigerian forward's priority is to stay in Europe, which is the reason behind stalling on a move to the Saudi Pro-League.
Chelsea are the only active European club in negotiation to sign him and the Premier League giants are trying to agree personal terms with the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
Osimhen is not ready to reduce his salary to facilitate a move to the west London club who are also reluctant to break their wage structure to get his signature, hence the reason behind the delay in getting a deal done.
