Faustino Anjorin's sixteen-year association with Premier League giants Chelsea has come to an end.
With a statement on their official website, Italian Serie A club Empoli confirmed the signing of the English-born Nigerian midfielder on Thursday, August 29.
Empoli have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the definitive acquisition of the rights to the sporting performances of Anjorin.
The former England U20 international has put pen to paper on a three -year contract, keeping him at the Tuscany outfit until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
Anjorin officially joined Chelsea as a schoolboy, rising through the youth team ranks to make his professional debut in a Carabao Cup tie versus Grimsby Town in September 2019.
That same season, he made his Premier League debut against Everton, coming off the bench for the last nineteen minutes of the contest at Stamford Bridge.
The following season, Anjorin played his first games for the Blues in the Emirates FA Cup and Champions League, taking his total appearances to five for the first team.
He enjoyed loan spells at Lokomotiv Moscow, Huddersfield Town and Portsmouth, totaling 40 appearances combined for the three clubs and put his name on the scoresheet six times.
