Confirmed: Norwegian club Odds BK sign Abduljeleel Abdulateef after successful trial
Published: August 30, 2024
With a statement on their official website, Norwegian Eliteserien club Odds BK have announced the signing of Nigerian attacker Abduljeleel Abdulateef.
Abdulateef has been offered a contract by the top flight club following a successful trial.
The Nigerian has joined Odd BK on loan for the remainder of the 2024 season with an option to buy inserted into the agreement.
Odds BK also announced that Abdulateef's compatriot Oscar Eze, who has also been on trial, will not be offered a contract this time around.
Abdulateef was invited to Norway for further tests after impressing the club's player logistics manager, Sebastian Nilsen when he visited Nigeria in June.
According to Nilsen, Odds BK have decided to sign him on loan instead of a permanent transfer because they want to assess him in training and matches before making a decision.
He has been described as a forward with the x-factor and top skills in terms of speed and 1-on-1 skills.
The brand new recruit is unlikely to make his competitive debut on Saturday when Odds BK face Fredrikstad FK because there is still some paperwork to be done.
The deal that took Abdulateef to Odds Bk was brokered by Norwegian-based Nigerian agent Atta Aneke in partnership with his long-term partner Udia Attai.
