Confirmed: Okoronkwo completes transfer deadline day loan move from Everton
Published: August 30, 2024
Through a statement on the club's official website, Premier League club Everton have announced that Francis Okoronkwo has completed a transfer deadline day loan move to EFL League Two club Salford City.
Okoronkwo has joined Salford City on loan for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season in search of first team football.
The Anglo-Nigerian forward trained with the first team of the Toffees during their pre-season preparations and was handed a squad number for the 2024-2025 campaign.
Okoronkwo was not called up for Everton's opening two games in the Premier League and was also not considered for the Carabao Cup win against Doncaster Rovers.
The 19-year-old has been signed by Salford City after featuring against them in a pre-season game.
Ahead of his loan move to The Ammies, the former Sunderland youth teamer played in three games for Everton's development squad, comprising two in the Premier League 2 and one in the EFL Trophy.
He has faced Football League opposition in the past, appearing nine times for Everton U21s in games against Morecambe, Harrogate Town, Hartlepool, Mansfield Town, Lincoln City, Doncaster, Burton Albion and Tranmere Rovers.
Okoronkwo has tallied 10 goals and four assists in 40 appearances in the Premier League 2 since making his debut in the division against Leicester City in February 2022.
