A product of Bendel Insurance, he has been capped by Nigeria at U23 level and was a surprise inclusion in the Super Eagles squad for the international friendlies with Ghana and Mali in March 2024.
Tanimu made his senior debut against the Black Stars featuring as a central defender and went the distance in the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin, where he showcased his versatility by playing in the right back position.
The Super Eagles defender will start training with his new teammates at Crawley Town in the coming weeks.
