Published: September 02, 2024
With a statement on their official website, Norwegian top flight club Odds BK have announced the signing of 2002-born Nigerian midfielder Abdulrazak Ishaq from Belgian powerhouse
Ishaq has signed a loan deal with Odds BK until the conclusion of the 2024 Norwegian season.
A product of Nigerian grassroots club Unity Academy, the 22-year-old arrived at Anderlecht from in the summer of 2022, but has struggled for playing opportunities at the Belgian club.
This is the second time he has been loaned out by the Purple and White, having spent the whole of last season at Swedish club BK Häcken.
He is now returning to Scandinavia and becomes the second Nigerian youngster signed by Odds BK on a temporary basis this summer, following in the footsteps of forward Abduljeleel Abdulateef.
Odds BK head coach Kenneth Dokken describes Ishaq as a versatile footballer who is probably best deployed as a box-to-box midfielder but also comfortable playing as a central midfielder.
Blessed with physicality and stamina, he has also played at fullback and wing-back.
Ishaq has played in six first team games for the first team of Anderlecht, including two starts, and has two goals and two assists for the reserve team, Anderlecht Futures.
He started his journey in Europe with Norrköping, where he made 61 appearances across all competitions.
