Butler-Oyedeji nominated for Arsenal Goal of the Month; battles West Ham's Ajala, 6 others for PL2 POTM

Nigerian forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has been nominated for two individual awards following his outstanding start to the 2024-2025 season.
The Hale End Academy graduate is in the running for Arsenal Goal of the Month and Premier League 2 Player of the Month for August 2024.
Butler-Oyedeji has played the full ninety minutes in every single game contested by Arsenal's development squad in the new season and put his name on the scoresheet four times while registering two assists.
In the opening round of the new Premier League 2 season, the 21-year-old contributed to two goals (1 goal, 1assist) in Arsenal's 4-2 win over Manchester United, with his 37th minute strike earning a nomination for the club's Goal of the Month.
From close range, Butler-Oyedeji turned and finished into the bottom corner after a fantastic pass from Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Other nominees for Arsenal's Goal of the Month include first team stars Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, plus academy players Brando Bailey-Joseph, Dan Casey and Max Dowman.
The Premier League Football Development Panel has selected Butler-Oyedeji and seven other youngsters for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
Butler-Oyedeji has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award, joining Aaron Bott (Nottingham Forest), Khayon Edwards (Arsenal), Jack Fletcher (Manchester United), Kyle McAdam (Nottingham Forest), Josh Ajala (West Ham), Lewis Orford (West Ham), and Kristian Sekularac (Fulham) on the shortlist.
Prolific Hammers striker of Nigerian descent, Ajala has caught the eye in the division, netting three goals in three starts, earning him a call-up to England U19s squad for their internationals in September against Italy, Croatia and Germany.
After netting twice against Southampton, Ajala went on to score the decisive goal at home to Norwich City, ensuring the Hammers' perfect start to the season continued.
The 17-year-old received his first-ever call-up to the Young Lions as a late replacement for Aston Villa's Kadan Young who withdrew from the squad.
Ajala joined West Ham from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, signing a scholarship deal before inking his first professional contract in November 2023.
