Musa, Ogunneye named in Manchester United's Premier League squad for 2024-2025 season
Published: September 14, 2024
As published on the club's official website, Manchester United have announced their Premier League squad for the 2024/2025 season.
The long list includes Nigerian right-back Habeeb Ogunneye and talented centre-forward Victor Musa, with both being included among the U21-eligible players.
Ogunneye took part in the Red Devils’ pre-season games against Glasgow Rangers and Rosenborg but was left out of the United States pre-season tour.
The 18-year-old is yet to be named by Erik ten Hag in the matchday squad this season but has been involved with the development side, featuring in three Premier League 2 games, recording one assist.
He also featured in the English Football League Trophy, now referred to as the Bristol Street Motors Trophy's win over Barnsley last month, playing for 82 minutes in the game.
Musa has been making waves with the U18s and made his debut for the development side last term but hasn't played any game since March and it remains to be seen when next he will be back in action.
He scored six goals in 16 appearances in the U18 Premier League last season, including a hat-trick against Blackburn last November.
Manchester United are hoping to recover from last season's disappointment, having finished 8th in the Premier League, their lowest in the competition’s history.
They have won just one game in the Premier League this term, losing their past two fixtures and will be looking to return to winning ways against Southampton at the St.Mary's Stadium today.
