Beyond Limits academy product scores on UEFA Youth League debut for Lille

Nigerian forward Adeshina Ibrahim Ayodele made an impressive UEFA Youth League debut for Lille U19 on Tuesday, helping his team to earn a point in a 2-2 draw against Sporting Lisbon U19 at the GD Stadium Aurelio Pereira.
The 18-year-old striker led Lille’s attack in a 4-3-3 formation and played the full 90 minutes. His performance was highlighted by a crucial second-half goal that sealed the victory for the visitors.
Lille took the lead in the 11th minute when Isaac Cossier finished a pass from Soriba Diaoune.
However, Sporting Lisbon quickly responded, equalizing 12 minutes later through Manuel Ascencao Bebiano Mendonca, who was assisted by J.P Arnauth Barrocas Simoes.
Ayodele restored Lille's one-goal advantage in the 62nd minute, calmly slotting home an assist from Diaoune, but points were shared as the visitors leveled matters in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
Ayodele joined Lille during the summer transfer window following standout performances with Beyond Limits, the academy team of Nigeria Premier Football League club Remo Stars.
The young striker also made waves internationally during the Viareggio Cup tournament in Italy, where Beyond Limits became the first African team to win the tournament.
Ayodele’s contribution was vital, as he netted five goals and provided an assist, averaging a goal contribution every 52 minutes.
Lille reportedly beat several top European clubs, including Anderlecht and Dutch teams, to secure Ayodele’s signature.
His debut goal in the UEFA Youth League is expected to boost his confidence as he embarks on his journey in European football.
