Confirmed: Fulham academy product Jasper joins Polish club Slask Wroclaw
Published: October 03, 2024
With a statement on their official website, Polish Ekstraklasa outfit Śląsk Wrocław have announced the signing of Fulham academy product Sylvester Jasper.
The tri-national forward, who has caps for England and Bulgaria youth teams, is eligible to represent the Super Eagles through his Nigerian father.
Jasper has joined Śląsk Wrocław on a free transfer after mutually terminating his contract with Portuguese side Portimonense in August 2024.
The 23-year-old has signed a contract with Śląsk Wrocław until the end of June 2026 with the option to extend it for another year.
During his time at Craven Cottage, he made three appearances for Fulham's first team and enjoyed loan spells at Colchester United, Hibernian and Bristol Rovers.
Last season, he registered two goals and two assists in 24 games in the Portuguese top flight but decided to leave Portimonense following their relegation to the Liga Portugal 2.
Śląsk Wrocław are the bottom team in the Portuguese top flight and have targeted the free agency market to bolster the roster.
In his first words as a Śląsk Wrocław player, Jasper said: "I am very happy to join the Śląsk Wrocław team. This is something completely new for me, because the Portuguese league is different from the Polish one.
"I was looking for new challenges and I feel that I can give a lot to my team. I am waiting for the first match at Tarczyński Arena Wrocław.
"I know that the team has few points now, but I believe that we will quickly start winning and climbing the table.”
Jasper has been allocated the number 23 jersey for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season.
