Victor Boniface names four countries to watch out for at 2025 Afcon, discusses car crash incident
Published: November 16, 2024
Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has pinpointed four nations he considers strong contenders for the 2025 Africa Cu of Nations title.
He also reflected on a recent car crash he was involved in, which fortunately left him unharmed.
Boniface played the last eighteen minutes in Nigeria's 1-1 draw against Benin, a match that ensured Nigeria's qualification for the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco, with one game remaining against Rwanda.
Boniface expressed his satisfaction with the qualification, stating, "The aim of everyone of us is to qualify top of the group. It doesn't matter if it was the last game or two games to go. The most important thing is that we qualify and we're happy with it."
Ahead of the game against Rwanda, Boniface identified four teams to watch in AFCON.
"There's a lot of good teams. Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Mali. When it comes to Africa football you cannot underestimate any team," Boniface told Football Fans Tribe.
"Everyone is good, so we're looking forward to it."
On Sunday, October 20, the Nigerian forward was involved in a serious car crash in Germany.
In an Instagram post, Boniface shared a video of the damaged vehicle, showing the severity of the accident.
The footage revealed extensive damage to the right side of the black car, while one of Boniface's hands was visibly bleeding following the collision.
Boniface shared details of the incident, explaining that he was on his way to the airport to pick up a childhood friend from Nigeria.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward mentioned that he was asleep when he suddenly became aware of the car spinning three times.
"I was having my childhood friend from Nigeria coming to visit. So we were supposed to pick them at the airport," he explained.
"I was sleeping and my other friend was driving. When I woke up, we were already spinning three times. But we thank God, just a little scar on my forehead and stitches. The most important thing for me is life."
