Super Eagles target Nwaneri battles club-record signing, makeshift striker, fullback for Arsenal POTM

Arsenal, through the official website, has revealed the Player of the Month nominees for March 2025, with Nigeria Football Federation target Ethan Nwaneri making the cut.
The newly capped England U21 international played in three matches last month - against Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier League, and PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League.
Nwaneri logged 140 minutes in all competitions and registered his name on the scoresheet once.
Ethan Nwaneri has scored more men's first-team goals before turning 18 than any player in Arsenal's 138-year history, as he continues to shine in his breakout season.
The Hale End Academy graduate is hoping to win back-to-back Player of the Month awards, having claimed the honor in February 2025.
To retain the award, Nwaneri has to beat out competition from Mikel Merino—Arsenal's makeshift striker in the absence of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus—club-record signing Declan Rice, and Netherlands international fullback Jurrien Timber.
This season, the dual-national player has mustered ten goal involvements in thirty appearances for the first team.
Nwaneri is the second-youngest player across Europe's big five leagues to reach 10 goal involvements across all competitions this season (8 goals, 2 assists), only behind Barcelona teenage sensation Lamine Yamal (17 years and 77 days).
