'An extraordinary signing' - Agent pushes Napoli to sign Atalanta dazzler Ademola Lookman
Published: May 10, 2025
Football agent Inacio Pia has thrown his weight behind Napoli potentially signing Ademola Lookman, calling the Atalanta forward an 'extraordinary' addition that could elevate the squad as they prepare for a more demanding campaign next season.
There is a gentleman's agreement in place for Lookman to leave Atalanta at the end of the season, despite being under contract with the 2024 Europa League winners until June 30, 2027.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has enjoyed a successful spell at Atalanta, having directly participated in 76 goals (51 goals, 25 assists) in 116 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking live on Radio Goal, Pia emphasized Lookman's proven impact in Serie A and his potential fit at the southern Italian club.
In quotes relayed by azzurrissimo, he said: "Lookman would be an extraordinary signing for Napoli, he has always made the difference in Serie A.
"He has had very few moments of difficulty, then he is a player who can exalt the Naples club. "
With Napoli expected to return to a more congested schedule, involving multiple domestic and European competition, Pia stressed the need for a deeper, high-quality squad.
"If you play more competitions you have to have a squad that is up to par because if you need to give someone a breather you need valid alternatives.
"Napoli have only had the championship to think about and have managed to maintain an important ranking, but from next year the music will change and it will be necessary to integrate the squad with other high-level players. "
Napoli will face competition for Lookman’s signature, with clubs in Serie A, La Liga, and the Premier League also monitoring the forward.
