Super Eagles defender Ola Aina is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract with Nottingham Forest following a standout season in the Premier League, according to The Telegraph UK.
Aina, who joined Forest on a free transfer, has become an integral part of the squad this season, impressing both defensively and offensively.
His consistent performances have helped push the club into contention for a historic UEFA Champions League qualification.
The 28-year-old Nigerian international has featured in 35 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and registering one assist.
Beyond the statistics, Aina’s versatility and work rate have been vital in Forest's campaign, as the team continues to defy expectations.
With his current contract set to expire at the end of the season, Forest have reportedly triggered a clause to extend the deal, ensuring he doesn’t leave on a free transfer.
However, discussions are already underway for a fresh long-term contract to tie him to the club beyond the extension.
Forest are keen to retain key members of their squad ahead of next season, and Aina is considered a crucial part of that core.
As the Premier League season draws to a close, Aina will be looking to maintain his high level of performance and help Forest secure a spot in Europe's elite competition for the first time in decades.
