Igoh Ogbu makes decision on Slavia Prague future amid Lille, Lens, Lyon and Strasbourg links
Published: May 17, 2025
2025 Super Eagles invitee Igoh Ogbu has made a decision on his Slavia Prague future amid interest from French Ligue 1 clubs.
Ogbu has seen his stock rise after earning a call-up to the Nigeria national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe and helping Slavia Prague clinch their 22nd top-flight title with four matches remaining.
According to Sport Boom, via sport.cz, the Super Eagles hopeful has no intention of leaving Slavia Prague unless he is guaranteed to play in next season's UEFA Champions League.
Thanks to their Chance League title, Slavia Prague are assured of participation in the league phase of the 2025–2026 Champions League.
Slavia Prague rejected a lucrative offer from Turkish giants Galatasaray in the January transfer window.
More clubs have joined the race for the services of the right-footed central defender ahead of the summer transfer window, with Lille, Lens, Lyon and Strasbourg all credited with an interest.
Apart from the aforementioned suitors, an unnamed Saudi Arabian club have made enquiries about the availability of Ogbu.
Slavia Prague signed Ogbu from Lillestrom in Norway for €2.5 million in January 2023, and his market value has since quadrupled.
This season, the former Flying Eagles star has participated in 33 games, scoring two goals and has an assist to his name.
The Gombe United alum has a contract with Slavia Prague until December 2026.
