Bayern Munich on brink of deal for Moroccan-born Nigerian striker eligible to represent Spain
Published: May 19, 2025
Frauen-Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are on the verge of completing the signing of Granada CF Femenino's prolific striker Edna Imade, in what is set to be one of the standout transfers of the summer.
According to reports from Marca and FootBoom, the German giants have informed Granada of their intention to activate the release clause in Imade's contract, with the deal expected to be finalized in the coming days.
Born in Morocco to Nigerian parents twenty-four years ago she has lived almost all her life in Spain.
She enjoyed a breakout season in the Spanish Liga F, scoring 16 goals in 29 appearances.
Only Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor outscored her, finishing with 25 goals in the 2024–25 campaign.
Imade's performances have drawn interest from top clubs across the United States, England, France, Italy, China, and Spain, but she has opted to take the next step in her career with Bayern Munich.
She is expected to sign a four-year deal and could be loaned out to a Spanish top-flight side next season.
The Nigeria Football Federation have already made contact with Imade about representing the Super Falcons, though Spain are also keen to secure her international allegiance.
Her current contract with Granada runs until June 30, 2026.
