Nigerian forward to end 14-year association with Arsenal this summer
Published: May 25, 2025
London born forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji is poised to depart Arsenal at the end of the season, bringing an end to his 14-year association with the Premier League club.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Gunners' youth setup in 2011, has enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Premier League 2, registering nine goals and six assists in just 13 appearances.
His performances earned him a call-up to the senior team, where he made his debut in the UEFA Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb and featured once in the Premier League during Arsenal’s title-challenging campaign.
Despite the strides made this season, Butler-Oyedeji is expected to part ways with Arsenal when his contract expires, according to club academy expert Jeorge Bird.
The forward has been previously linked with moves away from the Emirates but remained with the club, most recently turning down a loan move to Swiss side FC Zurich in January.
Arsenal's injury problems in attack played a role in his decision to stay and provide depth.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Butler-Oyedeji has been linked with Danish side FC Copenhagen, who are reportedly monitoring his situation closely.
Butler-Oyedeji rose through the ranks at Arsenal and featured at multiple youth levels before making his first team debut.
