Confirmed: Uche loaned out by FC Nuremberg after signing new contract

With a statement on the official website, German 2. Bundesliga club FC Nuremberg have announced that Nigerian-born attacker Uche Obiogumu has signed a new contract.
The Benin City-born player was offered fresh terms after an outstanding 2024-2025 season for the U23 squad.
Obiogumu enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Regionalliga Bavaria, registering 18 goal involvements—netting 11 goals and providing seven assists.
His standout performances included hat-tricks in league matches against SV Viktoria Aschaffenburg and FC Augsburg II.
To aid his development, Obiogumu will spend the upcoming season on loan at newly promoted 3. Liga outfit 1. FC Schweinfurt.
After spending three years in the club’s youth academy, Obiogumu made the switch to TSG Hoffenheim in 2021, where he featured for both the U19 and U23 sides of the Kraichgau outfit.
He returned to FC Nuremberg in September 2024 and has since been a regular member of the club’s U23 squad.
Uche spent the formative years of his career at TV Glaishammer, DJK Falke Nuremberg and SG Viktoria Nuremberg-Fürth 1883, before joining FC Nuremberg in 2019.
Although the forward was born in Nigeria, he has represented Germany at U18 level, featuring in friendly matches against France and Netherlands in March 2022.
Since the start of the 2020/21 season, Uche has racked up an impressive 32 goals and 25 assists in 91 appearances across all competitions.
