'His two goals were incredible' – Tosin hails Chelsea's new signing ahead of CWC showpiece v PSG
Published: July 11, 2025
Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo has lavished praise on new signing Joao Pedro as the Blues prepare for their FIFA Club World Cup final showdown against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday in New Jersey.
The Brazilian forward, who completed his move to Chelsea last week , announced his arrival in style with a brace on his full debut in the semi-final against Fluminense, securing Chelsea's place in the showpiece event.
"Joao’s settled in really well, and his two goals in the semi-final were both incredible,” Tosin told Chelsea's official website.
"You can see that he’s got amazing quality and will really add something to the group."
The 27-year-old defender highlighted Pedro’s seamless integration into Enzo Maresca’s squad, noting his immediate impact.
"We’re really pleased he’s here with us in America, helping the team, and as I said, he’s settled into the group so well already."
Pedro’s heroics against Fluminense have set the stage for Chelsea to challenge the reigning Champions League holders, PSG, in what promises to be a thrilling final at MetLife Stadium.
Tosin, who celebrated lifting the Conference League trophy in Poland, is hopeful that a victory on Sunday will spark even greater celebrations.
The defender’s glowing endorsement of Pedro reflects the growing cohesion within Chelsea’s youthful squad, which has thrived under Maresca’s guidance.
With the Brazilian’s flair and Tosin’s steady presence at the back, the Blues are poised to make a bold statement on the global stage.
