Sobowale: Wingback who shares the same agent as Rangers' summer signing joins St Mirren

With a statement on the official website, Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren have announced the signing of Irish-Nigerian wingback Tunmise Sobowale from EFL League Two club Swindon Town.

Sobowale ended his association with Swindon Town after signing a two-year deal with St Mirren, valid until the end of the 2026-2027 season.

Sobowale is represented by the UK-based agency Eyeconic Sports Management Ltd, which brokered the deals that saw Emmanuel Fernandez and David Eguaibor move to Rangers and Cove Rangers respectively during the ongoing transfer window..

He began his football journey at hometown club Waterford before making a move to Spain in 2018 to join Hércules.

Sobowale later returned to Ireland, signing for Finn Harps, and eventually rejoined Waterford in 2020, linking up with former Republic of Ireland youth teamer of Nigerian descent Roland Idowu.

His impressive displays earned him a transfer to Shrewsbury Town, where he was again reunited with Idowu, before switching to Swindon Town last summer and racking up 44 appearances.

The deal was not finalised in time for Sobowale to make his competitive debut in Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup clash against Annan Athletic.

The top-flight side cruised to an 8–2 victory, with Roland Idowu capping the win with a stoppage-time goal.

Tunmise is the older brother of Timi Sobowale, who is a product of the Manchester City academy.
