Sevilla to register former Flying Eagles striker Akor Adams after sale of Napoli target Juanlu
Published: July 22, 2025
Sevilla are on the verge of registering former Flying Eagles striker Akor Adams for the 2025/2026 season, as the Spanish club prepares for the departure of academy graduate Juanlu Sánchez to Serie A giants Napoli.
Adams, who joined Sevilla during the winter transfer window, endured an injury-plagued second half of the previous campaign and was unable to make an impact.
However, the Nigerian forward has returned to full fitness and is actively involved in the club’s pre-season preparations.
Despite his return, Sevilla have been unable to register the striker due to ongoing financial constraints.
That hurdle may soon be cleared, with Juanlu Sánchez reportedly on the brink of a move to Italy.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Juanlu has agreed personal terms with Napoli on a deal that would run until 2030.
The two clubs are currently finalizing the transfer fee, with a full agreement expected later this week.
The sale of the 21-year-old Montequinto-born full-back is set to ease Sevilla’s financial strain, thereby allowing the club to register Adams and three other players ahead of the new La Liga season.
However, the 25-year-old will be eager to hit the ground running once cleared to play, as he looks to justify the club’s faith in him following his difficult start in Spain.
