'I would go' – Besiktas brand new signing Ndidi names Real Madrid as his dream club

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has revealed his ambition to one day play for Spanish giants Real Madrid, even as he prepares to begin a new chapter in his career with Turkish side Besiktas.

The 28-year-old Nigerian international recently completed a move to Besiktas following Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2024/2025 season.

Known for his relentless work rate, ball-winning ability, and defensive intelligence, the move is seen as an opportunity to continue competing in top-flight football while testing himself in European competition.

Speaking on the Cultural League Podcast alongside fellow Super Eagles stars Victor Boniface and Frank Onyeka, Ndidi was asked which club he would choose if handed a blank cheque.

Without hesitation, he replied: “I will go to Real Madrid.”

His move to Besiktas offers him the platform to showcase his abilities in both the Turkish Süper Lig and the UEFA Europa Conference League during the 2025/2026 campaign.

Meanwhile, the midfielder will be looking to make an immediate impact, guiding the Black Eagles in their domestic and European pursuits.

Beyond club football, Ndidi is also focused on regaining peak form for Nigeria, as the Super Eagles push for qualification in upcoming international fixtures.
