Competition for Moffi: OGC Nice have concrete interest in signing Crystal Palace striker

OGC Nice’s attacking options could face a shake-up as the Ligue 1 side looks to bolster its squad ahead of the forthcoming season.

The club has been linked with an imminent move for Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Édouard, a development that may intensify competition for Nigerian forward Terem Moffi.

Transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri reports that advanced negotiations are underway between Nice and Crystal Palace for the 27-year-old Frenchman.

Édouard, a former Paris Saint-Germain academy graduate with Ligue 1 experience at Toulouse, has reportedly expressed interest in joining the Aiglons.

Moffi has been Nice’s standout performer since his 2023 move from FC Lorient.

Known for his pace, flair, and ability to unsettle defenses, the 26-year-old has become a fan favorite.

However, Édouard’s potential arrival could challenge Moffi’s role as the team’s primary goal-scoring threat.

Nice manager Franck Haise is expected to leverage the contrasting styles of both forwards.

While Moffi thrives on dynamic runs and creative interplay, Édouard offers composed finishing and valuable experience, potentially adding a new tactical dimension to the squad.

The anticipated signing of Édouard is set to be completed this month, setting the stage for a competitive battle for minutes up front.

For Moffi, the added competition could serve as motivation to elevate his performances, ensuring that Nice’s attack remains among Ligue 1’s most potent.
