'Sounds promising' – Kelly gives verdict on Fulham's deadline day signing Chukwueze
Published: September 18, 2025
Fulhamish podcast contributor Jack Kelly has offered an encouraging verdict on Samuel Chukwueze and highlighted that fans are yet to see his qualities in full.
The winger, who joined the Cottagers on loan from AC Milan on deadline day, is set to spend the rest of the 2025-26 season in west London, with the deal including an option to make the move permanent.
Fulham supporters are still waiting for their first sight of Samuel Chukwueze in competitive action, after manager Marco Silva left the winger out of the matchday squad for the clash with Leeds United.
The Portuguese tactician insisted the decision was down to the player's need for time to adapt to his new surroundings.
Kelly has tipped Chukwueze to add flair to Marco Silva's squad, with early assessments pointing to his potential impact on the right wing.
Speaking to Brentford's official website before Saturday's west London derby, he said: "We have not seen anything from Chukwueze yet, but he sounds promising and exciting on the right-hand side."
Brentford have been given an insight into what to expect from Fulham's tactical approach.
"It will be a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. There is a chance Fulham go to a back five, but I do not think that will happen.
"So, I think it will be the same sort of formation, with players who hurt Brentford last season potentially involved again, like Harry Wilson, but also Kevin and maybe Chukwueze," Kelly added.
Chukwueze joined AC Milan with a reputation as one of La Liga's brightest young talents following his impressive spell at Villarreal, but he struggled to reproduce that form in Serie A.
Seeking more regular playing time, the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup winner completed a loan move to Fulham earlier this month.
