'Going to get minutes' – Fulham coach sends message to deadline day signing Chukwueze

Fulham manager Marco Silva has confirmed that Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze could be in line to feature against Cambridge United in Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash.

Chukwueze, who joined the Cottagers on loan from AC Milan on transfer deadline day, is yet to make his debut for the club since returning from international duty with Nigeria.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Silva hinted that both Chukwueze and fellow new signing Jonah Kusi-Asare may be given opportunities against the League Two side.

"Naturally, they are going to get minutes throughout the season, because we signed them," the Portuguese tactician was quoted as saying by the BBC

[Kusi-Asare] is a young lad, he needs time to adapt. He came from a massive club, let's see when he's ready to have minutes. It will take time."

Samuel Chukwueze, who was an unused substitute in the 3-1 win over Brentford, will be eager to earn his chance to impress the manager in the upcoming League Cup fixture.

The Nigerian international has endured a difficult spell in recent years, struggling to live up to expectations since his move from Villarreal to AC Milan in the summer of 2023.

At 26, he will be hoping that his switch to England provides the fresh start needed to rediscover his best form.
