Published: January 12, 2013
Dynamo Kiev midfielder Lukman Haruna has commented on his first training session with the Ukrainian vice - champions after the winter break.
Football.ua citing the official website of Dynamo Kiev quoted Haruna as saying: ''I am ready, need to get used to the schedule. In the spring, we've got 12 matches in the Premier League plus play - off games in the Europa League. And we must be in the best physical condition and have a descent performance in both tournaments.''
Teammate Brown Ideye has been named in the Super Eagles squad for the African Cup of Nations which runs from January 19 - February 10 in South Africa.
''There are a lot of talented players in Nigeria. I am very pleased that Brown made the team and will represent our country in such a big tournament like the African Nations Cup. Hope it will bring much benefit to Nigeria. And we and the entire country will support the team at a distance,'' Haruna said.
The Kievites welcome Bordeaux in the knock out round of the Europa League on February 14th. Haruna is no stranger to French football. It would be recalled that the 22 - year - old central midfielder arrived the Ukrainian capital from Monaco two summers ago.
''You know after I moved to Kiev, especially French football, could not follow. I know that Bordeaux is composed of good players playing well in the league, ranking seventh in the standings. I can only say that it will not be easy, but our two-legged confrontation will determine who is destined to go on,'' he concluded.
