Premier League new boys Coventry City are on the verge of announcing the signing of Nigeria international Taiwo Awoniyi.
According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest have reached a club-to-club agreement for the transfer of the Super Eagles striker.
Awoniyi is set to leave Nottingham Forest for good, with the Sky Blues securing his services on a permanent deal.
The 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup winner is currently undergoing a medical ahead of his official unveiling by Coventry City.
Awoniyi will become the second Nigeria international signed by manager Frank Lampard to strengthen his squad following their promotion to the Premier League, joining compatriot Frank Onyeka, who arrived from Brentford at the end of last season.
During his four-year spell at Nottingham Forest, Awoniyi registered 23 goals and six assists in 103 appearances across all competitions.
Twenty-one of those goals came in the Premier League, where he also gained considerable top-flight experience, making 90 appearances for Forest.
The former Liverpool starlet has entered the final year of his contract with Nottingham Forest, whom he joined from Union Berlin in 2022.
