2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations-winning centre-back Oluwatosin Demehin has completed a move to Portuguese champions Benfica after leaving Turkish club Galatasaray.
In a statement on the official website, Benfica confirmed that the Nigerian international has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until 2029.
Demehin arrives at Benfica after spending the previous two seasons with Galatasaray, where she established herself as an important defensive option.
The defender began her senior club career in Nigeria before moving to France, where she played for Stade de Reims.
She subsequently moved to Turkey and joined Galatasaray in 2024.
Her switch to Benfica now represents another step in her European career as she begins a new chapter in Portugal.
Demehin has also become an established member of the Super Falcons, having represented Nigeria at major international tournaments.
She was part of the Nigerian squad at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games.
Demehin also featured prominently for Nigeria at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Her arrival strengthens Benfica’s defensive options as the Portuguese club welcomes a player with experience at both club and international level.
