Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler has shared insight into what to expect from former Olympic Eagles star Promise David ahead of the opening Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Sunday.
David joined the Seagulls on a season-long loan from Belgian club Union St. Gilloise following an impressive campaign with the Belgian side.
The 25-year-old, who represented Canada at the World Cup, enjoyed a productive campaign last season, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking ahead of the clash against Aston Villa, Hurzeler praised the Nigerian-eligible forward’s qualities and revealed what he expects him to bring to the team.
"Great and very positive character. I think that's the first impression. Second of all, a goalscorer,” Hurzeler said, as quoted by The BBC.
"He has goals in his body and in his mind and that's something that we definitely wanted to have.
"Today he will have his first session on the pitch with the boys and then hopefully he might be already involved against Villa."
David will now be keen to repay the faith shown in him by Brighton and showcase his qualities in the Premier League as he looks to make a strong impression during his loan spell.
The forward will also be hoping to continue his goalscoring form in England and establish himself as an important figure for the Seagulls during the 2026/2027 campaign.
