'I'm happy' - Moffi delighted after scoring first Bundesliga goal, hails Hamburg teammate and fans

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has expressed his delight after opening his goal account in Hamburg’s comeback victory over Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.

Moffi, who came on in the final 14 minutes, headed home a cross from Miro Muheim in the closing seven minutes to bring Hamburg level.

Muheim then scored the winner in the 94th minute, completing the comeback with virtually the final kick of the match at the SNP Arena.

Speaking after the encounter, Moffi was delighted to score his first league goal since joining the club, while praising the quality of Muheim’s cross.

“We're very proud. I'm happy I was able to help the team with my goal. Miro's cross was absolutely wonderful. I just had to get into position,” he told the club's official website.

Despite trailing in the closing minutes of the match, Moffi said he remained confident that his team could secure victory after equalising, adding that they were delighted to snatch the winner in the final minute.

“After that, I felt we still had a chance to win the game. We managed to do that in the last minute,” he added.

Moffi also praised the travelling supporters, describing their backing as extraordinary and expressing gratitude to everyone who made the trip to cheer the team on.

“It's an extraordinary feeling to see how many HSV fans made the journey to watch the game here. Crazy! We're grateful to every single one of them for coming,” Moffi concluded.

The former FC Porto attacker replaced French midfielder Martin Adeline in the 76th minute, with Hamburg trailing 2-1.

Moffi will be pleased to have contributed to his team’s comeback victory, while his first league goal is expected to help him settle quickly into life in the Bundesliga and rediscover his best form.
