N3.2b fee plus N0.8b add-ons: Super Eagles' Unity Cup-winning captain travels for Hamburg medical

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is on the verge of completing his move from OGC Nice to Hamburger SV after the two clubs reached a verbal agreement over his transfer.

Moffi, who captained the Super Eagles at the 2026 Unity Cup, is travelling to Hamburg on Friday ahead of his medical, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday.

The 27-year-old was undoubtedly Nigeria’s standout performer in their summer friendlies, providing two assists in the win over Zimbabwe before scoring in back-to-back games against Jamaica and Poland.

According to transfer reporter Florian Plettenberg, Hamburg have agreed to pay a fixed fee of €2 million (approximately N3.2 billion in Nigerian currency) for the Nigerian forward, with a further €500,000 (N0.8 billion) available in add-ons.

The total package is worth €2.5 million, which is approximately N4 billion based on the figures provided.

The remaining details and paperwork are still outstanding before the transfer can be officially completed.

Moffi is expected to sign a contract with Hamburg until 2029 and will become the Bundesliga club's new No. 9 if he successfully passes his medical.

As an OGC Nice player, he scored 24 goals and provided five assists in 72 matches across all competitions.
