Utaka's Agents Smile To The Bank; 1.5 Million Euros Richer
Published: July 12, 2013
In total, Beijing Guoan paid the sum of 3.5 millions euros to secure the signature of Nigeria international Peter Utaka from his previous employer Dalian Aerbin.
According to Netease Sport, 2 million euros was the transfer fee paid to Dalian Aerbin while the remaining 1.5 million euros was remitted to Utaka's agents, who facilitated his move to the capital team.
Though the club has failed to officially confirm this revelation, the money paid by Beijing Guoan for the acquisition of the 29 - year - old attacker is a club record, even more than the cost of legendary Mali international Frederic Kanoute.
Peter Utaka, who has started training with the first team of Beijing Guoan, watched from the stands the 5 - 1 victory over Guangdong on Wednesday because of missing paper work.
It is unclear if he would be eligible for Sunday's Super League match against Chuks Akabueze's Wuhan Zall.
