Official: Derick Chuka Ogbu Inks Three - Year Deal With CFR Cluj

2012 Romania champions CFR Cluj have completed the signing of promising Nigerian striker Derick Chuka Ogbu from Belgium club OH Leuven.
The 23 - year - old, who was on the wishlist on teams in Belgium, Germany and Holland this summer, has put pen to paper on a three - year contract which keeps him in northwestern Romania until June 2016.
Derick Ogbu is represented by respected agent Ivo Chi, and he reckons that his client made the right choice by leaving Belgium for Romania.
''Chuka signed for CFR Cluj because it is a big club that is known to play in European competitions.
''The coach ( Mircea Rednic , ed) expressed high interest on the qualities of Chuka.
''Apart from all this, CFR Cluj is at the moment one of the teams in Romania that works professionally.
''Derick is more than happy to be part of this great club,'' says Ivo Chi to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Ogbu spent the last two seasons with OH Leuven, scoring 18 goals in 60 appearances in the Pro League.
CFR Cluj pay the wages of two other Nigerian players - Obiora Nwankwo and Roy Odiaka.
