Efe Ambrose Targets Champions League Quarter Finals
Published: July 23, 2013
Glasgow Celtic midfielder Efe Ambrose is confident the club can improve on their performance of 2013 by reaching the quarter - finals of Europe's elite club competition - the Champions League.
The Bhoys lost 5 - 0 on aggregate to Juventus in the last 16 of the tourney last season.
''We set the target last year and we want to do better this year.
"I believe in what the manager has seen in them (new acquisitions) and I believe they are good players. That is why they are here.
"We never rely on just two players. We rely on the whole team and the people on the bench.
"We can see the qualities of the players and we can do even more than what we did last year, if we put our mind to it and be determined to work harder,'' the Nigeria international told reporters.
Celtic are likely to trade tackles with Swedish champions Elfsborg in the third qualifying round of the Champions League following their 3 - 0 first leg away victory over Cliftonville.
