Published: July 27, 2013
More facts have emerged as to why Skënderbeu Korçë star Nurudeen Orelesi was presented with an expensive wristwatch after the Albanian champions knocked out Neftçi from the Champions League earlier in the week.
Recall that Orelesi forever etched his name in Skënderbeu Korçë folklore after his 116th minute goal made sure the Albanians progressed to the third qualifying round of Europe's elite club competition for the first time in the club's history.
President of Skënderbeu, Ardjan Takaj told panorama - sport .com : '' Shortly before the start of Wednesday's game between Skanderbeg and Neftçi in the dressing room had a bet placed between midfielder and former president Agim Zeqo.
"Orelesi was presented a gift by the club, but it was a personal bet between him and Agim Zeqo.
''Orelesi said he would bet that the team will qualify, and bet with the former president. The result was a victory so Orelesi was given a watch.''
Nurudeen Orelesi has contractual obligations with Skënderbeu Korçë for the next one year.
But after his match winning performance against Neftci, the Azerbaijan champions made inquiries on the availability of the former Nigeria youth - teamer.
